Welcome to my Web site!
Hello my name is Paul and I am from Kingston, NY ...
The links and stuff cover a lot of ground so browse them and
many of my hobbies
I am a Navy Veteran with 8 years service. Please,
don't ask where I stand on the war in Iraq. I was sworn to
protect this land from all enemies foreign and domestic. I believe
that war protesters have no backbone and are insignificant gnats and most
all do not know the real truth
about was is ongoing and have their own little personal agenda to
defend however and insignificant and selfish it may be. It can be
summed up in a poster I saw at a anti-war protest "Except for ending
Slavery, Fascism, Nazism, and Communism... WAR HAS NOT SOLVED ANYTHING".
What will history cal the end of Iraqi and
al-Qaida oppression and terrorism?
They have waged war on our homeland in the U.S. and have killed thousands of
innocent civilians, one of which was my cousin.
I am a Dive master and Red Cross CPR/FA and Life guarding
Instructor. I worked for the Kingston Parks Department for 4
summers so you can wonder why I have so many shots on my photo gallery from
the City Beach and park and the dives trips are awesome. One of my
best trips so far is the Bahamas Shark Dive. Tried some rock climbing
in the Gunks and have a mountain bike, even karate and judo. I would consider a
triathlon but I hate running except out the door at quitting time!
I have worked for Yellow Transportation in the Yard at Maybrook
since 1989, its not much fun but it pays the bills. I took a leave of
absence during Jun-Sep 2001, I worked full time at the Kingston Point Beach,
it was my last summer there as head lifeguard and then worked for Herzog's
when Yellow laid me off after 9/11 in 2001, at Kingston Lumber as a delivery
driver before Yellow recalled me in August 2002. You get you around in a
lumber truck some of the views from the new houses are awesome.
I was laid off again and decided to enjoy the time off until Herzog's called
asking (begging) me to help, one of those days everyone calls in sick I
guess. I left Herzog's when Yellow recalled me to work of all days the
4th of July. Why do I put up with Yellow, all that aggravation with
extra boards and unions, simple, an honest days work for an honest days pay,
which some local employers seem to think union members are overpaid.
I'm single and working two jobs 60 hours a week is crazy. I could not
pay the rent/car/insurance and eat on what local non-union employers wanted
to pay. Now if I could get away with not paying those pesky income
taxes...I have a few ideas on that, have you ever read the tax laws, the IRS
(internal robbery service) has the Citizens of the States really convinced
that you have to pay income tax on what you get paid for your hard work, so
your boss does not have to.
The Catskill Mountain Railroad is a hobby job. I
have had it for the past 15 years by now. Started at a trainman and
now an engineer, I'm on a hiatus since Yellow has me working the same days
the Railroad runs. I've been a member of the Kingston Model RR Club
since I was 18 and still have parts of the train set I got for Christmas when I was 8
in the late 60's.
I have been a HAM Radio Operator since 1985 when I was in
the Navy and involved with SKYWARN and the NWS since that time. I'm an
earth science nut, my weather station has been online now since I moved to
Kingston 4 years ago. Before that data is available from Bloomington
where I lived since I was a kid. I have a 8" Newtonian reflector
telescope, hard to use in the city with all the street lights. I
have taken some college classes but I'd love to finish up something.
